Willow Forest Assistant

Kindra Perea has joined WSRF as an assistant teacher in the Willow Forest. She, her husband, John, and two children have been traveling across the country this past year in their travel trailer and are excited to be relocating to the Roaring Fork Valley after spending many years living in the beautiful Sonoran Desert of Tucson, Arizona. She is an outdoor-centric person who feels an incredible connection to the earth and all its wonders. She enjoys hiking, mountain biking, cooking, and traveling. Kindra received a B.A. in Communication Studies from California State University, Long Beach in 2004. After pursuing various teaching roles, she found her path to Waldorf education in 2012 at Desert Sky Community School in Tucson, AZ. She completed three Waldorf trainings from 2012 to 2014, during her years guiding her class from grades 1–3 and as a German subject teacher for grades 1–5. She wholeheartedly believes that embracing and teaching to the whole child is beneficial to their confidence, resiliency, creativity, and empathy for others. In 2015, she chose to pursue her love of teaching through the pedagogy of parenting when her daughter, Indira, was born and her son, Banyan, two years later.
