November News (November 17th, 2023)

We would like to say a huge thank you, to each and every one of our families as you head into the Thanksgiving Break next week. As a reminder, we have no school next week, November 20th to the 24th for all students. 

As we head into this holiday week, we are so incredibly grateful that you have chosen the WSRF community for your family. Thank you for your dedication to an education that nurtures creativity, compassion & connection in all our students. Thank you for being a part of the Waldorf School on the Roaring Fork community. 

14 Days to Go! It’s time to sign up and secure your volunteer slot for Winterfaire, sign up now to have the most choices! Short shift and many hands make for light work. We cannot say thank you enough to all the families who bring this incredible event to life. It’s because of every volunteer that this event is possible and you create magic for our students. All current parents are kindly asked to take 1-2 volunteer shifts. We know we ask a lot to bring this event to life. The impact is an experience that students remember for a lifetime: filled with festive community, celebration and joy. What a gift to each and every student.

Please Note: Each current family is also responsible for creating 5-10 handmade gifts for the Angel Room and 5-10 sweet treats. Treats & gifts can be dropped off in the Sunroom on Dec 1st and sooner. Here are some ideas for Angel Room Gifts. 

What (the heck) is the Angel Room? The Angel Room is a special, child-only shopping experience for students filled with hand-made gifts. Students get to shop alone for their families which is a special experience. The gifts are provided by our entire community. We know it’s a big ask, thank you for helping make this possible! 

Last but not least, tickets are now on sale for Winterfaire, coming up on Saturday December 2nd, 11am-3pmPurchase presale, discount tickets now for the lowest price available (presale tickets on sale until 8am on Dec 2nd). Tickets are all inclusive for all activities, sweets and lunch! Children 3 & under are free! 

*Remember: all community members are welcome for this festive day so please invite friends, neighbors & family to join us for this day of fun for everyone, including unique holiday shopping from over a dozen local vendors! 

Please join us in the Hall this Thursday for a special, adult-only evening of festive holiday shopping. Explore handmade gifts from over a dozen local vendors including clay work, beeswax candles, handmade cutting boards, hand-dyed silks, baked goods & so much more! Don’t miss this special shopping event and all community members are welcome, invite your friends & neighbors! A portion of all proceeds from this event directly support WSRF as a non-profit organization. 

All adult community members and alumni students and parents are invited to participate in a candle light walk at the Advent Spiral in the Hall at WSRF this coming Tuesday, Nov 28 at 6pm. Each person will be offered a candle to take upon their walk and enjoy watching others do as well. This is an incredible, reflective experience as we close out this year and head into a new one! Please RSVP to your hostesses, Karyn Andrade at karyn@lazure.com or Holly Richardson at holly@waldorfschoolrf.org. Warm cider and treats will be served. Please, no young children, but young adults welcome. Babes in arms are also welcome.

Thank you to the WSRF community for helping us gather 290 pounds of food. The 2nd grade delivered the food to Lift Up on Tuesday.
