November News (November 4th, 2022)

Students across the grades had the chance this week to visit an Ofrenda in celebration of Día de los Muertos and make space to acknowledge those who have passed away and remain dear to our hearts. Students shared individual images and stories as contributions to the communal ofrenda and learned more about the holiday’s origins and traditions. Our students are exposed to traditions and festivals from around the world and across cultures to nurture their development as global citizens.

Thank you to the Heart committee of the parent council for coordinating food for faculty and staff during parent teacher conferences and thank you to the MANY parents who lovingly prepared soups, muffins, cookies and tacos for our team! With gratitude, WSRF staff & faculty

Annual Fund is Underway

The WSRF Annual Fund is underway! This is WSRF’s most vital fundraising effort and raises critical funds that directly support the incredible programs at our school. Join us in our goal for 100% participation to support the future of WSRF and an education that prepares students for life. We ask that you consider a generous investment in our school’s future.

Every donation to WSRF is tax-deductible and may also be eligible for the Colorado Child Care Contribution Tax Credit (CCCC), giving a generous 50% of the contributed amount back to the donor. Please contact your financial advisor for more information.

To donate or learn more about where your donation goes and why the Annual Fund is so important, visit the page here. For specific questions, please reach out directly to Morgan Jacober.

Angel Room Gifts Sign Ups

Each family in grades 1-8 are asked to provide 5-10 Angel Room gifts per family.

Gifts: Every year children line up outside the Angel Room with eager anticipation of the magic and beauty awaiting within. They are guided in by our "8th grade Angels" who assist each child while they, with great pride, choose gifts for their families and friends. You may ask "Where do these gifts come from?" It is asked that each family in Grades 1-8 provide 5-10 adult made gifts as a contribution to the Angel Room (gifts from Kinderhaus families are welcome but not required). We hope for beautiful, simple gifts that are created in the spirit of providing a magical experience for the children! By the way... shhh... it's meant to be a secret where the gifts come from... if possible!

Sweet Treat

All WSRF families are asked to make 24 bite size treats (think mini scones or muffins) for the Sweet Shop.

The Sweet Shop: please prepare 2 dozen scones, mini muffins or tea cookies (keep it simple). Please note ingredients such as gluten free or dairy free. Treats should be individual bites. Please label your tray so that it can get returned to you. Tea will be served!

Angel Room gifts and baked items will be accepted in the Sun Room beginning Thursday, December 1st through 12:30pm on Friday, December 2nd.

Thank you all for your immense commitment and support of our school community! We look forward to a wonderful Winterfaire!

Get Your Holiday Wreaths

Money earned from these fundraisers goes towards Middle School students’ end-of-the-year class trips. The class trips give the children a chance to celebrate, gain new experiences, build memories and help others.
